Sarah Sunday!

That’s exactly how I feel, Gabby.

Good morning peoples of the Internet!

Sarah update: Not much. Another week gone by in a blur. After working like a week and a half straight, these 3 days off this week did not help much. They were pretty much all catch up days – Tuesday I basically did laundry all day, Wednesday I went shopping at The Christmas Tree Shop and spent too much money on fall decorations and picture frames and stuff (including that LOVELY Home Sweet Home sign below, that was only $10), and Thursday was supposed to be my relax and do nothing day. What did I do instead? Hung up decorations and frames, moved a shelf into another room, reorganized some of my craft stuff, made dinner, etc. And then stayed up way too late even though I had to work, cause I was missing the honeyman and wanted to see him when he got home from kickball. (Yeah, he’s on a kickball team. He’s so awesome.)

This week is looking just as busy – game night, hosting a jewelry party (with Steph the Bookworm!), visit with my dad, and of course various errands, chores, and working out. Le sigh. At least game night and the jewelry party should be fun!

On the weight loss front, I’m down 9.2 lbs as of this morning. I SO want to reach the 10 lb mark. Also, I got my first “Hey have you lost weight?” which was cool, except the guy basically said that I looked better before, so not as cool as it could have been. I’m happy to say that the back fat I’ve been watching creep up on me is now pretty much gone, and that’s awesome. I’m still a little sad about my boobs going back to the size they were about 2 years ago, but mostly because I don’t have as many bra options in my closet now, and I don’t want to buy new ones yet.

You’re supposed to give yourself little rewards for reaching weight loss mini-goals, and considering I only want to lose 30 lbs at the most, then 10 lbs is my first one. I was originally going to go get a new tattoo, but I don’t want to spend the money on that at the moment. So maybe go get my hair trimmed? Or go get a fancy pedicure? Or buy that pair of $30 Nike flip-flops I’ve been eyeing for months now? Not sure yet.

Bookish update: Well, not a whole lot. The only book I finished this week was Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs. Definitely a hilarious but really interesting book, I recommend it. Right now I’m reading Devil Said Bang by Richard Kadrey, which is the fourth Sandman Slim book. So far, I’m not loving it as much as the first and third book, but it’s still good. I have less than 100 pages in that, so hopefully I’ll finish it today or tomorrow. And then I think it’ll be time for a quick cozy mystery that was on my Monthly TBR list, Murder is Binding by Lorna Barrett. It’s the first of the “Booktown” series, and the author lives in my area, so I’m excited to try it out.

ALSO, some books come out this week that I’m pretty excited about – Blackberry Winter by Sarah Jio, and The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling. I’ll have to read the Rowling book IMMEDIATELY, before I hear anything about how good it is or isn’t that might taint my own experience. I have high hopes for it.

And that’s all the updating I have in me today. I hope everyone has an awesome week!!!

  1. You’re doing great with your exercise and eating healthy! I wish I had your motivation. I say get the pedicure or something … a hair trim just sounds like something you’d get on a normal day!

I’m on the wait list for the audiobook for The Casual Vacancy … #1 on the list, so I hope they get it in soon! The wait list for the book is 47 people, so I’d be waiting forever. Of course, knowing me, I’ll just buy it. :)

    Have a good week, Sarah!

  2. The Christmas Tree Shop? THE CHRISTMAS TREE SHOP?! Sounds awesome :)

Nice worrrk being all healthy and stuff :) (although not so much the boob loss. BOOOO!) I fully support your getting a 10lb loss present- I say haircuts make you feel AWESOME, but, you know, up to you :) - You should get a tattoo when you reach your target weight- of a little doughnut or something hehehe

  3. Woot on your weight loss goals! And that guy who gave you that backhanded compliment is an idiot. At least in my opinion.
I’m looking forward to The Casual Vacancy as well. Though I probably won’t get to it for awhile. It may be like a full time job to avoid spoilers.

  4. You HAVE to let me know how you like the Casual Vacancy! I’m a bit hesitant because I have so much love for Harry Potter and this just doesn’t sound all that interesting to me… I’m gonna wait till more people have read it I think…
Congrats on the weight loss! 10 lbs is a huge accomplishment!
Also, a jewelry party sounds infinitely awesome! Hope you have fun!

  5. Congratulations on your weight loss, Sarah! I’ve been on WW for 2 weeks and have managed to lose only 2.5 pounds, but hey, it’s something. Keep up the good work!
