#READATHON wrap-up

Still reading on the left, books and comics finished on the right

Closing Survey

Which hour was most daunting for you? Too many of them! I was not well-rested enough for it this time around.
Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year? Binti and Please Do Not Taunt the Octopus are really good novellas – though PDNTTO is a part of the Newsflesh trilogy by that author.
Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? A hour-long Twitter chat, maybe at the half-way point, would be REALLY fun I think. And give me an extra energy boost.
What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon? The challenges were very awesome!
How many books did you read? 3 novellas / short stories and 3 comics. And I’m about halfway through Purple Hibiscus, and 20% into PDNTTO. I wish I’d read more… or that I was already in the middle of a good book when the readathon started.
What were the names of the books you read? Just look at the stuff on the right in the picture above, I’m too lazy to type all that.
Which book did you enjoy most? Binti.
Which did you enjoy least? Martian Manhunter #1. Ugh, DC.
If you were a Cheerleader, do you have any advice for next year’s Cheerleaders? I was not, but hopefully I will be the next time around.
How likely are you to participate in the Read-a-thon again? What role would you be likely to take next time? Well of course I’m gonna participate during the next readathon – probably as a Cheerleader actually, I haven’t done that in a long while.

Alright – I’m going to through chicken in the crockpot for tacos later and go finish my books. And maybe sneak in some video game time, because my brain might need a break from words on a page.

  1. I hear you about not being well rested enough! The baby had me up SO MUCH the night before the read-a-thon … I kind of hoped she would miraculously go back to being a good sleeper, but nope. My eyes were heavy most of the day. I do love comics and graphic novels, though, for a read-a-thon! They made me feel super accomplished. 🙂 You still did great!

  2. I hadn’t planned a thing & ending up having to work leading up to the readathon. Didn’t have any books ready… but it all worked out in the end.

I was thinking about hosting a Livestream chat at the halfway point, where people can contribute to Q&A.
