Sarah Sunday

Happy Sunday, peoples!

  • There’s some stuff going on work-wise, that I can’t talk about yet. It’s most likely a good thing, but all making me very nervous.
  • My friend came over one night last week and we played Borderlands 2 for a good 5 or 6 hours. It was magical.
  • Game night got cancelled this week, so I went shopping with my sister on Friday night. And then I shopped again on Saturday… Got some really cute new work stuff, including a red and grey long striped dress that probably makes me look kinda big, but I don’t even care. It’s adorable. I think I’m gonna wear it tomorrow.
  • I went to Barnes and Noble on two separate occasions this week to use up my gift cards, and went to the used library book store, AND received my Ninja Book Swap package. I gainedΒ a ton of books this week, as we can see below…

  • I’m going to make 40 Clove Garlic Chicken this week. My mouth is already watering.
  • I’m thinking that when I get my taxes back, I may take $70 and sign up for Marvel Unlimited. A whole year for only $70 sounds pretty good (comes out to under $6 a month) and it seems like the cheapest way to read some of the older Marvel stuff I’m interested in, like the Miles Morales Spider-Man series, or Iron Man. Depends on if the app will function properly on my Kindle Fire…
  • That being said, I have SO MUCH comics reading to catch up on. I still have the new volumes of Saga and Chew just waiting for me. I’m so excited I think part of me is purposely “saving” them for the perfect time to read them.
  • I did finish a few books this week:Β I’m Not Racist, But… by Anita Heiss, Heaven’s Queen by Rachel Bach, and Stuff Matters by Mark Miodownik. Will I get reviews written? Who knows. I’d like to, but we’ll see.
  • I managed to go to the gym twice this weekend. Woo-hoo! Now hopefully I can get myself to go before or after work a couple days this week. I’m feeling pretty positive about it.
  • I love Sundays for the possibility of a call from the honeyman. I miss him like crazy.

Aaaand that’s been my week! How are you guys doing? Read any of the books I got this week? Any experience with Marvel Unlimited?

  1. I hope you get your call from your honey. πŸ™‚ I plan to visit my used book store this week while on spring break; it looks like you have a great haul. Heaven help me with what damage I might do. Those places are right there in “gold mine” status the same as my Indie bookstore. Yikes!

  2. You got ALL THE BOOKS this week. Sounds like fun! Every time I hear about the ninja book swap, I think it wold be fun to participate.

I’m not a comics person at all, but I have to say that I think that the $70/year sounds like money VERY well spent for you for the Marvel club. I love the one subscription book thingy that I have (IndieSpensable from Powell’s) and it’s so much fun getting cool stuff in the mail every 6-8 weeks.

  3. I love the new dress. Saw your Instagram pic – it’s adorable! Yay for all the books!! That’s a great weekend. I got a few new books this weekend, too and it just made me super happy.

I also saw on Twitter you got to talk to the BF last night. woohoo!

Fingers crossed all the good things happen at work, which I’m sure they will!

Also – I went running, Sarah!! The lazy girl who hates exercise – and I did it! And to be honest, it felt amazing! I’m doing it again today and I can’t wait. I can’t believe I’m even saying that!!

Hope this week is a good one!

      1. Thank you!! Outside. There’s a walking/running track at the local park. I ran with my sister-in-law and we’re going tonight after work. I’m really looking forward to it. πŸ™‚

  4. I’m saving the most recent Saga for myself also. I’m going to wait until I’m having a cruddy day, and then cheer myself up with a lovely new issue of Saga. (Or two! If I don’t have a sufficiently cruddy day prior to the release of the April issue.)

Have you read The Silkworm yet? I got a very lightly used hardback copy at my library book sale earlier this month, and I am psyched to read it.
