Sarah Sunday!

Happy Sunday πŸ™‚

I’m actually writing this on Saturday night, because I just finished my re-read of An Echo in the Bone, which means that all day tomorrow I’ll have my face buried in Written in My Own Heart’s Blood (MOBY, for short). You don’t even understand by excitement. I love Outlander πŸ™‚ Unfortunately, I know I’m not going to finish MOBY tomorrow because it’s 814 pages. I really, really wish I could take Monday off of work, but this will be a busy week coming up b/c it’s the end of the month.

Anyhoo. I did things this week! Most notably, posted THREE TIMES – Sarah Sunday, Top Ten Tuesday, and a post about my Kindle. I’m on a roll. I also managed to go to the gym this morning (first time in months), and I read for a while in the park by my house, which was wonderful. I really need to get outside more.

Alright, time for bullet points, yes?

  • I was really cranky this week. I don’t know why, but I felt off until about Friday. Maybe because I was tired, staying up late to read? I also feel like I’ve been slowly fighting an oncoming cold for the last week. Also, work was slow, and I kind of missed the hecticness. Weird, I know. Another oddness of actually liking my job now.
  • I really want to go to a comic book shop. Which I suppose I could’ve tried to do today, but didn’t, because I wanted to read instead.
  • I bought a book! The Physics of Superheroes by James Kakalios. I saw in Barnes and Noble today, and couldn’t resist. I also ordered the third volume of the Manhattan Projects from Amazon this week when I ordered the radio installation kit for my car.
  • I’m joining in on the readalong for Caitlin Moran’s new novel that Emily is hosting next month! In her infinite awesomeness, she managed to get my an e-galley. I’m super excited, I missed readalongs with this gang πŸ™‚
  • I really, really want an Outlander tattoo. And a cat tattoo.
  • I was hoping to post some graphic novel reviews this week, but given MOBY and working longer hours this week, not sure if that’s going to happen.
  • My vacation is next month. I’ll have about 10 days straight off. I’m really looking forward to creating the TBR pile for THAT week. I’m not going anywhere special, but near the end of that week I will be celebrating 7 years with the honeyman πŸ™‚
  • Speaking of the honeyman, we’re starting to do our weekly date nights again. With switching jobs and everything, we kind of fell out of the habit, and I’ll really happy to start doing it again. I love having one night a week where we can go out to dinner, see movies, etc and it’s just dedicated time to spend together.
  • I might be starting to watch Orange is the New Black this week, finally. Practically everyone I know has seen it but me.
  • I follow mostly bookish people on Twitter, with a couple news channels and celebrities thrown in for fun. So when the honeyman showed me some Youtube videos about the “Dumbest Tweets of 2013/2014“… oh man. That’s a whole side of Twitter that I’ve never seen. It was funny, but also painful. SO many misspellings, and worse.

Okay, and now I have to go pass out because it’s after midnight and I need to sleep if I’m going to get up, go to the gym, and then come home to read all day. I need my energy. How are ya’ll doing?

  1. My vacation starts next weekend and I can’t even tell you how excited I am for a break.

YES – more tattoos. I want another one, too. Book-related one. I can’t believe out of the 5 I have, none of them express my love for reading. I need to fix that.

Weekly date nights are awesome. We try to get at least one a month and I so look forward to them. Generally consists of eating out and lots of wine. πŸ™‚

      1. I remember your post about that tattoo – I love it! I was just thinking of a picture of an open book. I really want it on my inside ankle, but I have several visible tattoos now and I know it’s frowned upon at work. I may be pushing my luck by getting it somewhere it will be seen if I wear a skirt or capris.

  2. I’m still yet to read an Outlander book, but I’ve got to say, your enthusiasm for it has definitely piqued my interest for it. I will definitely get to it…one day!

And yess! Tattoos! I’m pretty sure I’m going to get my next one in the next few months. I’d also love a cat tatt, but it seems like the vast majority of the cat tatts online are the crappy clipart style so I have no idea what I’d want to get. Or where for that matter.

    1. I like some of the clip-art-ish cat tattoos… I want a black silhouette of a cat, and I want the tail to curl into a “g” for Gabby. I just gotta find someone to make it up for me so I can see it.

  3. Zomg you’re on a blogging spree πŸ˜‰ Seriously I’m happy things are getting better and you have time to read and post again. And vacation! I haven’t watched Orange is the New Black either but some friends have said it’s good but not the hype-good so I’ll see a few more opinions on it. Hope you’ll like it!

  4. I’ve looked over that Physics of Superheroes book at the library where I work a few times but just haven’t picked it up. I’ll be interested to hear what you think when you do read it…we haven’t seen Orange is the New Black either. My wife really isn’t interested and I doubt I’ll get to it, be honest, with other shows that we’re watching and books to read. So you’re not the only one. πŸ™‚

    1. Damn honeyman watching OitNB sucked me in, and now I’ll probably get around to it soon. Not this week, like I was originally hoping, but soon.

I can’t wait to try Physics of Superheroes! I started the Kindle sample and was enjoying it, and this book is the expanded second edition, so I’m psyched.

  5. I AM TIRED I NEED IT TO BE THE WEEKEND AGAIN. My sister got married this weekend, and I have not yet finished doing wedding festivities and hosting activities. I am super ready to be done with wedding socializing, and I am super cranky in the meantime.

  6. Yay for date nights being back! It’s so important to spend time with each other! And glad to hear work is slowing down, it sounds like it has been crazy these past few months and you’ll get used to it πŸ˜‰
Also: I love how you’re embracing your Kindle πŸ˜€ We’ve truly won you over to the dark side of e-reading πŸ˜‰
