Sarah Sunday!

It feels like this week was such a blur, but I’m sure that’s just because the past few days were spent in a gross haze of sickness. But I did things this week! Kind of.

So Monday the honeyman and I ran a ton of errands in the morning, changing addresses and such, and then the cable guy came and we got our internet back! *claps loudly* Also, my mom stayed over for dinner because she found out I was making the first chicken pot pie of the fall, and it’s delicious. Tuesday evening the honeyman and I went to my sister’s house to meet their new puppy!

Shadow Maximus. What a cutie.

Aaaand because Tuesday was the relese of Rainbow Rowell’s newest book Fangirl, we HAD to make a trip to Barnes and Noble. See my excitement up in that first set of pictures.

Wednesday I agreed to watch DB (Devil Baby, formerly known as L) for several hours, and he was sick and coughing and eventually throwing up all over the place. Oh the joys of being an aunt. And then after he left we had game night, and I got about an hour of sleep before going in to work, so OF COURSE by midday Thursday I was sick too.

Aaaand basically the rest of the week has been work and sleep, with large amounts of tissue and NyQuil. Fun times indeed.

I’m feeling better now, but still sniffley and coughing. At least I’m alert though. I’m determined to get a crap load of reading done this week. I have four days off, and I’ll be shopping one of those days, but other than that I just want to stay home, do housework, cook a bit, and read books. I’m almost done with The Lies of Locke Lamora – I should be able to finish it tonight while I’m at work. And I want to read at least 2 – 3 books this week; Primates (graphic novel), The Night Circus (or one of my other RIP pile books), and Fangirl. I see another Go Away I’m Reading readathon happening one of my days off this week. I’m thinking maybe Tuesday.

OH, also remember how I mentioned stuff about Gabby’s dry food last week? I’ve been reading a lot of different things online, and I think I’m going to start dramatically decreasing the amount of dry food she gets, and try to put her on a mostly canned and frozen food diet. I have to do some searching in my area to find the kind of stuff I want, but yeah. I think it’ll be a good thing. Probably a bit more expensive, but definitely healthier for her. Also, I had a dream last night that I somehow acquired two more cats – one was fluffy grey and tan, and the other was blue, green, and purple and I named it Space Kitty.

Anyways… how have you guys been?!?! I’ve missed all of your faces.

  1. Aww yay soft kitty! Sucks that you’ve been sick but glad you’re feeling better and THANKYOU for reminding me that I needed to put Rainbow Rowell’s other books on my wishlist before the Halloween Ninja Swap! Eleanor & Park was great 🙂

I’m sad you were sick this week and DAMMIT CHILDREN. Did you read Fangirl yet didya didya? *pokes you* I might have read it in like two days because YAAAAY!

I feel like this comment should have more to it but I’m tired and I can’t think of any more words!

  3. I’m glad you’re feeling better! That blue-green-purple kitty sounds like it would fit excellently into Thursday Next world hehe.

I haven’t really had great desire to try Rainbow Rowell books, but I must say I am curious about this one – just the main character seems intriguing and relatable. I hope you enjoy!

    1. I really, really wish there was such a thing as a space kitty like that. Whyyyy don’t kitties come in the fun colors? Lol.

If you’re feeling like a light, fun, read with a romance plot, I HIGHLY recommend Attachments. It’s awesome and adorable and there’s references to Dungeons & Dragons in it, and it was just so nerdy it made me happy 🙂

  4. Glad to hear that you’re feeling better. Being sick is no fun at all. Interested to see what you make of The Night Circus if you get round to reading it this week! My best friend and I have completely opposing views of it, which always makes for fun discussions!

Also, Space Kitty! How cool would that be?!

  5. I like your kitty dreams! Maybe between last week’s space pants and this week’s space kitty, the world is trying to tell you something.

hope you have fun reading Fangirl. It was cute–definitely lighter than Eleanor & Park.
