A Quick Bout of Books Wrap-Up

Alright, I’ve been online for almost four hours now and need to actually shower and get my day moving, but I wanted to do a quick Bout of Books wrap-up post. Cause why not.

Thanks as always to the hosts! Bout of Books is the bestest readathon, and they kick ass at making it so.

Here’s the link to my master post, if you’re interested in seeing my GIF-of-the-day and such all week.

My goals were…

  • Read at leastΒ 100 pages per day, hopefully getting up to 1000 pages read by the end.
  • Cross at leastΒ 3 books off of my list.
  • Visit and comment on other blogs, new-to-me and not, at least once a day.
  • Join in on at least one Twitter chat.
  • HAVE FUN OF COURSE!

And I managed almost all of that except visiting blogs every day, because sometimes I just didn’t want to be online. Oops.

In total I read:

  • The Blue Blazes by Chuck Wendig
  • True Grit by Charles Portis
  • Relish: My Life in the Kitchen by Lucy Knisley
  • Self-Inflicted Wounds: Heartwarming Tales of Epic Humiliation by Aisha Tyler

And I also started Stormdancer by Jay Kristoff, which I’m still reading and really enjoying. All in all, 1139 pages read! Not too bad, considering being busy sometimes and packing and whatnot.

I really had fun with the Pairathon chat – it let me to a bunch of new bloggers, many of whom I’ve added to Bloglovin. Also, drinking + Twitter chat = the most fun.

How did you guys do on your goals?

    1. Thanks πŸ™‚ yeah, sometimes I just don’t feel like being on the computer! I love blogging, but sometimes there is just too much stuff I have to do online & I get sick of sitting there for hours on the computer.

  1. Great job! I noticed last time that it’s really difficult to set demanding goals in both reading and socialising, so next time when I participate (which will probably be next Bout of Books), I’ll keep that in mind. Aand I’m curious to see your review on Stormdancer.

    1. Yeah, I try to aim low with the socializing aspect, but sometimes I don’t even manage that, lol!

So I have about 120 pgs left in Stormdancer, but I’m really liking it so far. It may have just made me tear up a little bit in public, I was reading while I ate lunch at the grocery store. Lol people were probably a little confused.

  2. Wow, looks like a great week! Last Bout of Books I set such strict guidelines for myself on discovering and commenting on new blogs that I burned out before the weekend. Much as I love meeting new people, I’ve realized it’s best not to stress over it.

  3. Wow, that’s a lot of pages! Especially with packing and stuff going on. I wish I’d had an urge not to be online, I could probably have doubled or tripled my page count… I NEVER LEARN.

I’m looking forward to the reviews for all these by the way. And THAT CAT GIF. Hehe, that’s the kind of thing Domino would do, the daft sod. πŸ˜€
