Sarah Sunday!

Well ya’ll, it was a pretty quiet week around here.

Nothing really exciting happened, except that the honeyman is now on a nice two-week vacation before he starts a new job ๐Ÿ™‚ Totally looking forward to hanging out with him a lot these next couple weeks. Other than that… not much. I watched This is 40 with my little brother one night, and that was kind of funny, but not as funny as Knocked Upย was. I didn’t get enough sleep these past couple days, which has sucked. Only went to the gym twice, and the second time was when I was SO tired I’m amazed I didn’t fall off the treadmill. The honeyman went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday with his friends (and brought me back my newest coffee mug, above) and he had a ton of fun, and I’m just a bit jealous that I couldn’t go because I was working. I wish we had known about it earlier because we would’ve went during our anniversary weekend, but oh well. Next year I hope.

My nephew L has earned himself a new nickname – Devil Baby, or DB for short. He’s in that fun two-year old phase in which he takes stuff and hides it when you’re not looking, and throws iPhones into toilets and tries to flush them. I’m half expecting him to turn into Stan from Cougar Town and start taking a hammer out to destroy some mailboxes. Seriously, if my sister calls to tell me that I will laugh SO HARD.

The honeyman and I are about halfway through season 4 of Breaking Bad, and it’s still so awesome. So here are my thoughts – Walt is such a fun character but man he needs to learn how to shut his mouth. Jesse… ugh. So many emotions, but mostly I just feel bad for him. I hate Skyler, the dirty hoebag. Hank is awesome, but he’s been an asshole lately and I feel sad for him. I have slightly more respect for Marie, even though she’s her own basket of crazy. And Gus is the FUNNEST bad guy, but I have a feeling he’s not going be around much longer. So yeah. Love this show. AND Netflix just put season 5 up there, so yay!

So guys, pretend you have some sort of terminal disease and you only have a short amount of time to live and you want to make a ton of money to leave behind – what life of crime would you pick?

This week will hopefully be productive AND relaxing – I have four days off and I’m going to aim to get a lot of packing done. And I’m also thinking that at some point we’ll take a few breaks and go play mini-golf, which we never get to do. And if we can just have one decent 80+ degree day with lots of sunshine, I’ll finally get to go to the beach. Summer is running out, dammit, and I wanna go!

Bookish update: Well, I finished a couple of books – Feynmanย by Jim Ottaviani, Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn, Tell the Wolves I’m Homeย by Carol Rifka Brunt, and Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore. ALL SUCH GOOD BOOKS. Now I’m reading Dead Man Risingย by Lilith Saintcrow (the second Dante Valentine book), and Edge of the Universe by Paul Halpern.

Aaaaandย theย Bout of Books readathonย is happening this month! And guess what? I’m one of the challenge hosts! So you should really sign up because it is the most fun ever.

Okay guys, I’m going to go flip through the newest issue of Popular Science (3D printing organs!) and try to figure out why I’m so freaking cold this morning. How’s your weekend going? Any good plans for this coming week? Are you signed up for Bout of Books yet?

  1. Gah I so can’t decide if I want to take part in Bout of Books but if you are being a challenge host… Boo, decisions, decisions.

A part of me wants to continue with Breaking Bad (think we finished with Season 3, so we’d start with 4), but then I want to wait until the series finishes and then watch peacefully once most media coverage has ended. Same with Dexter – I don’t know what it is that I’d rather not watch them while they’re hot, thehe. Good thing The Wire was made long ago so we could peacefully watch it and rave about it and appreciate it.

I’ll have the last week at work before 3 weeks of freedom, so I’m sure this week will go fairly fast!

    1. We’re usually kind of behind on shows like Breaking Bad & Dexter anyways because we wait for the DVD’s to come out. But I know what you mean – sometimes I just want to watch something that’s already ended so there’s no waiting around for it to finish. It IS fun to be part of the frenzy though, sometimes ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope that your last week at work flies by! And YAY for three weeks of vacation, that is fabulous!

  2. Devil baby! Ha ha, love that. My youngest nephew is 22 months and not a day goes by that I don’t get a text/call/pic of something outrageous that he’s done. I don’t miss those days. My “baby” is 13. She doesn’t throw phones in the toilet as often as she once did, ha ha.

Breaking Bad! That show. Seriously brilliant. I just want to give Jesse a big hug and cook him dinner or something. I love that character, bitch.

    1. I cannot wait until my nephews and niece (and any future nieces/nephews to come?) are about the age of 13. At least I could talk to them… My oldest nephew is 8 and he’s finally at an age where we can kind of converse and he reads books and stuff, but he’s also still only 8 and therefore not usually interested in anything but playing, lol. I just seem not good at communicating with kids from ages 1 to about 11…

LOL Jesse. I love his affinity for calling everyone bitch. Seriously though, dude needs a hug. I feel so SAD for him sometimes!

  3. See, stories like this make me TERRIFIED that my little one will be a devil baby! I hope not … I kind of like my phone. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yay for Bout of Books! I’m still not sure if I’m participating, but I really should … it’s always so much fun!

    1. Aww, I’m sure your baby won’t be a devil baby! I think it’s mostly just that “terrible twos” thing that people talk about – he’s just such a handful! I kind of can’t wait until he’s older… like 10.

Bout of Books is always SO much fun! You should definitely join in ๐Ÿ˜‰

  4. NO L, IPHONES ARE EXPENSIVE! Seriouslyyyyyy hahaha (nervous laughter because WHAT IF SOME KID DOES THAT TO ME)

Hang on a sec… Why is Skyler a dirty hobag?! I will never ever understand why everyone hates her…

    1. Do u have the iPhone protection plan or whatever it is? Luckily my mom had that, it helps… I swear between her & my siblings they’ve gone through like 10 iPhones in the last several years…

UMMMMM that thing with Beneke! That’s why she’s a hoebag & I’ll never forgive her for that. And otherwise she’s just really annoying & controlling & dramatic & ugh I hate her. Stupid Skyler.

      1. Ok, so Skyler had sex with Ted AFTER she found out her husband was a big drug manufacturer, had been lying to her for months, missed the birth of their kid because he was doing drug things and SHE’S the bad guy?! Seriously, I don’t get that! She IS quite annoying, I’ll give you that, and she is a bit of a hypocrite (DRUG MONEY IS BAD unless I want it for something and then it’s fine) but I really don’t think she deserves all the hate she gets!

      2. Never an excuse for cheating! Of course if I was her & my husband lied to me that much, we would have some serious issues & I might try to break his kneecaps… but she decided to go the cheating route. You know how much I hate cheaters. After that all the extra annoying things that she does are just THAT much more annoying.

  5. Yay for getting to spend more time with your honeyman! ๐Ÿ˜€ And the coffee mug looks lovely!
Oh man, Devil Baby is right when he’s flushing down iPhones!
I hope you’ll get your beach day! I love how sunny it’s been here lately ๐Ÿ™‚
