Well ya’ll, it was a pretty quiet week around here.
Nothing really exciting happened, except that the honeyman is now on a nice two-week vacation before he starts a new job 🙂 Totally looking forward to hanging out with him a lot these next couple weeks. Other than that… not much. I watched This is 40 with my little brother one night, and that was kind of funny, but not as funny as Knocked Up was. I didn’t get enough sleep these past couple days, which has sucked. Only went to the gym twice, and the second time was when I was SO tired I’m amazed I didn’t fall off the treadmill. The honeyman went to the Renaissance Festival yesterday with his friends (and brought me back my newest coffee mug, above) and he had a ton of fun, and I’m just a bit jealous that I couldn’t go because I was working. I wish we had known about it earlier because we would’ve went during our anniversary weekend, but oh well. Next year I hope.
My nephew L has earned himself a new nickname – Devil Baby, or DB for short. He’s in that fun two-year old phase in which he takes stuff and hides it when you’re not looking, and throws iPhones into toilets and tries to flush them. I’m half expecting him to turn into Stan from Cougar Town and start taking a hammer out to destroy some mailboxes. Seriously, if my sister calls to tell me that I will laugh SO HARD.
The honeyman and I are about halfway through season 4 of Breaking Bad, and it’s still so awesome. So here are my thoughts – Walt is such a fun character but man he needs to learn how to shut his mouth. Jesse… ugh. So many emotions, but mostly I just feel bad for him. I hate Skyler, the dirty hoebag. Hank is awesome, but he’s been an asshole lately and I feel sad for him. I have slightly more respect for Marie, even though she’s her own basket of crazy. And Gus is the FUNNEST bad guy, but I have a feeling he’s not going be around much longer. So yeah. Love this show. AND Netflix just put season 5 up there, so yay!
So guys, pretend you have some sort of terminal disease and you only have a short amount of time to live and you want to make a ton of money to leave behind – what life of crime would you pick?
This week will hopefully be productive AND relaxing – I have four days off and I’m going to aim to get a lot of packing done. And I’m also thinking that at some point we’ll take a few breaks and go play mini-golf, which we never get to do. And if we can just have one decent 80+ degree day with lots of sunshine, I’ll finally get to go to the beach. Summer is running out, dammit, and I wanna go!
Bookish update: Well, I finished a couple of books – Feynman by Jim Ottaviani, Ella Minnow Pea by Mark Dunn, Tell the Wolves I’m Home by Carol Rifka Brunt, and Bloodsucking Fiends by Christopher Moore. ALL SUCH GOOD BOOKS. Now I’m reading Dead Man Rising by Lilith Saintcrow (the second Dante Valentine book), and Edge of the Universe by Paul Halpern.
Aaaaand the Bout of Books readathon is happening this month! And guess what? I’m one of the challenge hosts! So you should really sign up because it is the most fun ever.
Okay guys, I’m going to go flip through the newest issue of Popular Science (3D printing organs!) and try to figure out why I’m so freaking cold this morning. How’s your weekend going? Any good plans for this coming week? Are you signed up for Bout of Books yet?
