Sarah Sunday!

Good morning there lovelies! The suckiness of April continues!

Well, I suppose that this week wasn’t ALL bad. I got stuck at work on Monday night until 4 AM because the temp called in for his shift, so that kind of sucked. Tuesday night while flossing one of my fillings came out. I didn’t even know that could happen. Haven’t gone to the dentist yet to get it fixed, but hopefully will soon. It doesn’t really hurt yet, it’s just one more thing costing me money, you know? Oh and on Wednesday my cd player in the kitchen stopped working. I’m clearly on a roll here.

BUT there was lots of good stuff too this week. Wednesday was my friend’s birthday, and we took her and her hubby out to dinner and did presents and cake and stuff. On Thursday I went out and filled out an application for the library (they’re not hiring at the moment, but still) and I also filled out an application for the local B&N who IS hiring right now, so I’m going to try to check in next week and see if they reviewed it. So yeah, wish me luck there! Cause if I’m going to get a second job I’d REALLY prefer it to be a bookish one.

On Saturday I did the Color Vibe 5K with the honeyman, my sister Heather, and her kiddos. (Note the really bad pictures above – just FYI, I had lotsa layers on. There’s no excusing how messy my hair was though…) The weather was TERRIBLE – it was in the 40’s and really windyΒ and it freaking snowed! It was still a lot of fun and the first time I’ve ever done anything like that.Β  After the color run the honeyman and I went home, ate Taco Bell, showered all the color off, took a nice nap, and then went grocery shopping. It ended up being a really nice day. I totally can’t wait for the day when I have weekends off again.

This week looks to be pretty busy, sadly. I only have 3 days off, and on one of those I’m hosting a Premier jewelry party, and on another day we have a lot of errands and appointments and stuff.

Bookish update: I finished 3 books this week – at least my reading has been good this month! I finished Nexus by Ramez Naam, The Disaster Diaries by Sam Sheridan, and The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy.

I’m now reading My Beloved Brontosaurus by Brian Switek, which is interesting so far even though I’m only about 30 pages into it. I’ve been on a non-fiction kick lately. I’m also hoping to start The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller this week.

There are TWO readathons this week, that I’m going to try my hardest to participate in even though this week looks a bit crazy. The first is on Wednesday the 24th, and it’s the Weekday Readathon hosted at Love At First Book. That’s the day I have lots of errands to run, but I’m going to try to read before and after (and maybe during!) all my running around that day. And of course next Saturday is the Dewey Readathon, and I’ll be reading along on that day even though I work all weekend. I need to start assembling my readathon book piles!

Are ya’ll participating in either one? You really should! Even if it’s only for a small part of the day,Β readathons so fun πŸ™‚

Okay peeps, I’m out. Hope everybody is having a spanking-good weekend!

  1. Have I just not paid enough attention to your photos? Because I didn’t realize you have very light blonde hair now. The image I have of you in my head is the b&w head shot you have on the top right on your blog…

Wow, your filling came out when you were flossing? I didn’t know that could happen, either. Hope you’re able to get it fixed without a heavy monetary burden.

Way to go on the 5K and good luck with the bookstore job. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you!

    1. LOL I think in the b&w photo by hair was a little darker, but I’m always blonde. I’ve been lightening it a bit more recently.

Yeah, part of the filling just chipped out! It was the weirdest thing. I even have the piece that came out, it fell on the sink so I saved it to show the dentist, lol.

  2. Good luck on the B&N job! If you get hired you can make EVERYONE read Outlander! πŸ˜‰ Working in a library or a bookstore sounds kinda perfect to me.
It sounds like you’ve been crazy busy, both with work and more enjoyable things!
I’m going to look into the Weekday read-a-thon, it sounds fun πŸ™‚ and yay for Dewey’s Read-a-Thon! I’m so excited for it! πŸ˜€

  3. Duuuude, Colour Runs seem AWESOME. Like, if there’s anything that would get me to run, that would be it.

BOOOOO all the bad things, but yay all the good things? I’m thinking that, on the whole, we’re going to call this a neutral week?

    1. The Color Run IS pretty awesome. I mean, basically you don’t HAVE to run because it’s not competitive, and you get covered in color! Next time I do it I hope it’s warmer, because I think being all sweaty would help the color stick to you better – a lot of the color just brushed off. And next time I want to do it without kids tagging along with us, because that way we could run whenever we wanted and we can join in the big color music thingy at the end!
