Sarah Sunday!

Hey there guys.

Sarah update: I am SUPER tired and a little cranky right now, so bear with me.

Last Sunday was Easter, and that was nice. We went out to dinner and had Italian food that was oddly enough better when I warmed it up for lunch the next day. The honeyman and I got to spend a little time together earlier in the week – we started season 3 of Archer, and finally finished watching the Star Wars movies. We had game night and I finally got to play Fluxx, which was super strange but fun. Thursday my car wouldn’t start when I tried to leave the gym, and the guy at the auto parts store said my battery needed to be charged so I did that, and then it happened again on my way to work at 1:30 in the morning on Saturday. Sooooo that sucked, and I ended up having to get a new battery yesterday after work and I got very little sleep before coming in today. Hence the tired and cranky I mentioned.

Oh yeah, so I’ve FINALLY officially seen all 6 of the Star Wars movies! My final thoughts…

  • Anakin was a whiny little bitch.
  • I liked the older movies better.
  • Overall the storyline just doesn’t make much sense.
  • Jedi are cool but kind of really dumb.
  • Obi Wan, Han Solo, Yoda, and R2D2 were clearly the coolest characters.

Well obviously I have more thoughts than that, but that about sums it up.

In a fit of boredom at work the other day, I went through my Instagram account and tallied up all of my pictures into different categories. Gabby gets the most of my Instagram-love, followed by books / book-related things, and then followed by food. And everything else was pictures of me, family / friends, or random photo-a-day things. I’m surprised that Gabby had about a 20-picture lead over bookish stuff, but I’m not really surprised that Gabby, books, and food were the top 3. (The honeyman would be in the top 3 except he hardly ever lets me take pictures of him, much less post them all over Instagram.) So yeah… that was interesting I suppose.

Normally I’m happy that it’s Sunday because that’s usually the end of my work week, but I have to work on Monday too so that stinks. At least the honeyman and I have date night tonight, that’ll be nice 🙂

Bookish update: I finished two books this week – Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing by Hod Lipson and Melba Kurman, and Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines (both reviews coming this week). I actually read Ex-Heroes in only a day and it was pretty good, so I’m looking forward to the sequel coming out later this month.

Today I’m probably just going to work on finishing up HP #5 so I can get the readalong post done nice and early this week. Somehow I keep scrambling to catch up by Friday, so it’ll be nice to be ahead. Plus I don’t really have the attention span for much else today.

OK and I think that’s all I got in me for the moment. Hope ya’ll are having a good weekend!

  1. It sucks that your car’s battery died! But with a new one at least you know you’ll not get stranded again. Still, I can totally understand the crankiness 😉
I do like the Star Wars movies, but I was pretty annoyed with Anakin as well.
I hope you have fun on date night tonight!

    1. Yeah, I am relieved to at least have the new battery. I need to get one more thing fixed on my car and get it inspected (it’s about 5 months overdue…) and then I’ll be done with the car stress!

I was disappointed because I thought that I would like evil, angry Anakin! But I ended up only liking him when he was a cute little kid – he grew up to be just a whiny, angsty teen. Yuck.

  2. Looking forward to seeing your review on Fabricated. I am obsessed with 3D printing! It boggles my mind how so many amazing things can be made using that tech. Did you see the dress that Dita Von Teese wore a couple weeks back that was made using a 3D printer?

    1. YES I SAW THAT! I heard the dress is going into some sort of museum or hall of fame. 3D printing is just so cool. I’m not usually very into technology (I STILL haven’t made peace with touchscreen phones) but I can’t help but get excited about 3D printing. Review for Fabricated should be up tomorrow! 🙂

  3. Car problems SUCK! I hope that’s the end of your worries now!

And I totally agree … the older Star Wars movies are WAY better than the new ones. I can’t stand a lot of the new characters.

    Have a good week!

  4. Boo for your car! I would be terrified if my car broke down at 130 in the morning. So you’re braver than I am. Plus, your honeyman has you prepared for everything weapon wise. 🙂

I have never seen any of the star wars movies. Sometimes I consider it when I see them on the dvd shelves at the library but then I always take home something classic or foreign instead.
