Sarah Sunday!

Good morning and Happy Easter!

Sarah update: Well, this week went by FAST. Two of my three days off were spent mostly just cleaning and cooking, and then we had game night (wooooo wine and Cougar Town!) and then Wednesday was my last day off. Work this week has luckily been slower than it has been. FINALLY. It’s the end of the quarter, so things tend to slow down a bit, plus its a holiday so yay. ALL the blogging and reading at work!

So for the past two years, I haven’t been able to use my windshield wiper fluid – there was some in there and you could hear the wiper motor trying, but none came out. Which means for the past two winters, it has SUCKED because salt and dirt would get on my windshield and I couldn’t see. Well, when my brother-in-law did my oil change this weekend I mentioned it and it turned out to be some broken tube, which he fixed in about 5 minutes. So I feel like an idiot because it was so easy to fix, but I’m also super relieved because my chances are dying in a fiery car accident just went down dramatically.

It’s Easter! Which is actually kind of sad, because my grandma died last year the morning after Easter, although the actual day she died is in like 10 days. (So you know, if you read blogs in the afterlife Grandma – Hi! I miss you.) Since I had to work today and no one feels like cooking, we’re all going out to dinner tonight which should be nice.

I think last year I posted the Epic Rap Battle of History of Genghis Khan versus the Easter Bunny, so here’s a different one that’s semi-religious: Adam versus Eve. (And for those of you who know and/or like Jenna Marbles, she’s in it.) My Easter gift to you all.

Bookish update: I finished two books this week (Just Six Numbers by Martin Rees, and The Return Man by V.M. Zito) and I’m hoping to finish the 8th Nightside book today. I actually started this book AGES ago, but when I started doing treadmill intervals I stopped reading these books at the gym, so now I’m getting back into it. And I’m also planning on starting Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing today, because 3D printing has been all over the news lately and it’s something that’s so hard for me to wrap my head around. We’re totally approaching the age in which people will have replicators like in Star Trek. How cool (and a little scary) is that?

Also I’m working on putting together a big huge TBR pile for April, because with 2 readathons happening I feel like it should be a good month for getting a ton of reading done.

Okay ya’ll, I’m going to go enjoy this peace and quiet and read for a bit. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, whether you’re celebrating Easter or not! Eat some chocolate!

    1. Thanks 🙂 She really is.

During game nights we either play Mythus (a D&D-like dice gaming system) or we play Call of Duty. This last game night though, we watched Cougar Town and drank wine because my boyfriend had to work late.

  1. Easter really has the best candy out of all the holidays! 🙂
Yay for work being less busy and I know, those days off go by SO FAST!
Also, lol on the fixing your car thing 😉 Stuff like that always happens to me too!
I hope you’ll have a wonderful dinner tonight!

    1. Extra Gabby cuddles help with everything 🙂

Yeah I do miss my grandma a lot. I think this is the first year we haven’t had a big family dinner, we went out to eat instead. She probably would have hated that, lol, but none of us were up for it this year.

  2. Happy Easter, I’m going to second the get-some-extra-cuddles bit. But also, I am so excited to see what you think of that 3D printing book because I SO do not get that. I mean, I get the concept…but it makes my brain hurt. So if that book makes sense, I can’t wait to hear about it!

    1. I hope you had a happy Easter!

I’m about 50 pages into Fabricated and I think it’s just about to start talking about how 3D printing actually works. It’s a hard idea to wrap your head around! So far the book is really readable and interesting though, hopefully I’ll finish it soon! 🙂

  3. Gabby is too cute!!! I’m sure Grandma is reading your blog right now or at least knows that you are thinking of her!!!! My grandfather died the day of my birthday party when I was in 7th grade, which was a day before my birthday, so I know how it can be to have a happy time coincide with a tough time.
