Sarah Sunday!

Good morning people!

Sarah update: Honestly, not a lot happened this week, which was nice. I hung out with my sister Heather and my niece and nephew on Monday – my niece had a gymnastics thing (she’s only like 4, but still cool) and I found out my nephew is writing his own books – he’s only 7, but that is so fun that he’s writing these stories. It’s called the “Timmy the Turtle” collection. ADORABLE. (Hey future-Josh if you’re ever reading this cause the internet keeps everything forever – this was super cool and I hope you’re like a famous author when you’re reading this).

The honeyman bought The Walking Dead board game a while back, and we’ve played it by ourselves and with friends now – it’s tough, but surprisingly fun. Not sure it’s quite worth the $40 that Barnes and Noble charges, but if you find it on sale it is a really fun game.

Ummm workout-wise my running intervals are getting better. I think I’m going to switch it this week to running for 3 minutes, walking for 2 minutes, for 20 minutes. We’ll see how it goes.

Date night tonight! I believe we’re going to Red Robin (YUMMMM), then grocery shopping, and then coming home to watch The Walking Dead.  Our date nights get a lot more exciting once TWD season ends. I’m even kind of hoping that for one of our date nights in April we can go see the Wicked musical… but I’m not sure we should splurge that much. But I REALLY wanna see it…

Bookish update: I had my lonely little readathon on Wednesday! And IT. WAS. AWESOME. I read 406 pages, tweeted a bit, and otherwise just kind of ignored everything. I took a small break after the honeyman got home so we could relax and eat chicken tacos together, and then went back to my reading. It was just really nice to have a “readathon” declared without hopping online every couple hours to socialize and do challenges and stuff.

There are however two readathons coming up in April that I’m super excited about and you should be too:

  • The Weekday Readathon is on Wednesday April 24th – For those of us who like to do readathons but are too busy on the weekends! Even if you normally work on Wednesdays, you can still join in afterwards! This will be hosted by Rebecca at Love at First Book, and Allison at The Book Wheel.
  • Also, the Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon is usually in April and I heard a rumor that it will be on Saturday, April 27th. The website doesn’t confirm that date yet, so maybe add Dewey’s to your blog reader to stay up-to-date!

I read a few books this week – The Iron Jackal by Chris Wooding, The Space Between by Diana Gabaldon (an Outlander novella), Moloka’i by Alan Brennert, and Hell to Pay by Matthew Hughes. Reviews for most of those are coming this week. I feel like I’ve made so much progress on my March TBR!

I’m hoping to start two books today and finish them both this week – The Return Man by V.M. Zito and Just Six Numbers by Martin Rees.

So, how’s your weekend going? Anything fun planned for this coming week?

  1. Walking Dead board game, wha? I need to look for this, if only to see how exactly this game works.

Also Wicked was excellent. And then you will have the songs stuck in your head ALL THE TIME.

    1. TWD board game is SUPER hard if you’re only playing with 2 people. It’s like impossible to win. Then we did 4-player later, and that was easier but still tough. It’s fun though! Complicated at first, but fun 🙂

  2. Dewey’s readathon is on the 27th April! SO EXCITED (they said it on twitter, so I fully assume it’s true!)

Wicked is sooooooooooo good. Like seriously SO good. If anything is worth splurging on, then that would be it. (That or Les Mis. I’m assuming the show is as good as the movie. Or better.)

    1. UGHHH I really wanna go see Wicked!!! I’m going to attempt to scrape up enough cash within the next couple weeks, but we have friend’s birthdays and stuff coming up too, so we’ll see…

  3. I love taking an entire day to just read and ignore everything else. I’ll have to have one of those soon! I wish I could participate in the Dewey readathon, but I work that day. 😦 Oh well … one day!

I hope you have a good week, Sarah!

  4. Yay readathons! I think I need to impose one for myself sometimes soon even though there are tons coming up. I need more than a few READ ALL THE BOOKS days a year.

Wicked is awesome. I hope that you do get a chance to see it.
