Book Blogger Hop!

Hello and welcome! Figured today was a good day for a blog hop post, since I like the question, I’m at work, and I’m probably not going to have a review to post today (still reading Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire, which I’m really enjoying). If you’re interested in joining in on the hopping fun, check out Crazy For Books for more info.

So this week’s question is…

“Many of us primarily read one genre of books, with others sprinkled in. If authors stopped writing that genre, what genre would you start reading? Or would you give up reading completely if you couldn’t read that genre anymore?”

My answer…

Luckily, I don’t really have one genre that I read the most. I bounce around fantasy, sci-fi, romance, YA, regular fiction, classics, humor, historical fiction, etc. pretty evenly. In fact, the best that I can narrow down my favorite genre is just fiction, because that covers everything that isn’t non-fiction. If fiction wasn’t being written anymore, I’d just read non-fiction. And I could never give up reading completely! If there were no books around, I’d read appliance manuals just to have something to read.

So what about you guys? What would you read if you couldn’t read your favorite genre anymore?

  1. I read a lot of genres too, switching a favorite every few years, so I’m sure I’d always find something to read. I would definitely not stop reading!

Thanks for stopping by earlier and have a great weekend!

  2. I would read more historical fiction, especially about royalty. 🙂 I like books about kings and queens and royal courts, I just don’t usually make time to read them that often.

  3. I read across several genres too. If a book’s synopsis fascinates me or someone recommends a book to me whom I trust, I read that book. Also, being part of a book club has broadened my genre horizons. I’m read some really great books as well as some abysmal ones in that setting.
