I’ve never done a BTT before, but no time like the present, right?
SO, this week’s question is:
Which non-series book would you most like to read the sequel to? Do you have any wishes for what might happen in it?
And as it so happens, yes. There IS a book that I am dying for a sequel for, but none has been promised. I would LOVE a sequel to My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares.
It’s a really good romantic story about Lucy and Daniel – Daniel has spent centuries falling in love with her, over and over again. He remember ALL of his past lives, and when he’s lucky, one of his lives may include knowing her, despite a change in her name or look. But no matter how close they come to being together, things always end too soon. Finally they’re living within the same lifetime and it seems like Daniel will finally be able to love her and be with her – except he’s not the only one with the gift of remembering past lives, and someone is out to get him.
So, it’s a little cheesy but I really like love stories that occur over epicly long periods of time and this one was SO GOOD. Except things ended on a bit of a cliff-hangy note, and there NEEDS to be at least one more book. But Brashares has not said whether or not she’ll write a sequel. Sure, she’ll complete that YA series about girls in traveling pants, but not this. Grrrr.
I don’t even really care or have any hard ideas about how the sequel should go, I just want there to be one. And for it to have the same magic as the first book. Is that really so much to ask?
So are there any stand-alone books you guys want to see a sequel of?
