Sarah Sunday! And Happy Mother’s Day!

image

L, Gabby, Gabby, and quote from Space Chronicles

Good morning peoples! And Happy Mother’s Day!

It wasn’t a very exciting week for me – I didn’t have many days off, and the ones I did have off were kind of busy. I went to visit my dad yesterday, and we chatted about books for a while which was nice. It’s SO funny to see people who aren’t usually readers suddenly get so into books. What else…

I’ve changed my treadmill intervals. I lowered the speed I usually run at, and I can apparently run for MUCH longer at that speed. The pace is about a 12-minute mile which is super slow, but I don’t even care. If I can just get used to running 3 miles (so 36 minutes) without stopping, I’ll be happy. I still haven’t started running outside yet, which I want to do but keep procrastinating on until I get new shoes (and because I like the gym). Also, for anyone that cares, I’m still maintaining my current weight. Surprising, as I sometimes feel like I’m eating SO MUCH, but there we have it. In August it’ll be a whole year since I started working out and that’s just super cool. Never thought I had it in me.

OH! We saw Iron Man 3 last week and it was good! Really good, except for the ending. Obviously I’m not going to go into spoilers, but man I don’t really like Pepper Potts. I also finally watched the Reese Witherspoon version of Vanity Fair and ehhh it wasn’t my favorite. Aaaand the honeyman and I started watching a new SyFy show called Defiance and we’re totally hooked. It’s about Earth being accidentally terraformed by this group of aliens and it takes place years later and the alien species (of which there are apparently 7) and the humans are trying to co-exist. And the main characters are Nolan and his adopted (Irathient alien) daughter Irisa, and it’s just so interesting and fun! I may do a whole Defiance post sometime later this week, cause there’s a lot to talk about there. But hey, look at me actually watching stuff! I don’t even remember the last time I watched two movies in one week.

So yeah, it’s Mother’s Day! My mom is currently in Florida and won’t be home for like a week, but Mom if you’re reading this – Happy Mother’s Day and you’re the best and I love you!!!

image

Mommy! With baby L.

Also Happy Mother’s Day to my sisters Heather and Amanda :-)

And hell, Happy Not-A-Mother’s Day to myself (and all the other ladies without kiddos), cause I totally love that I can go home and have date night with the honeyman tonight and hang out and relax without kids crawling all over me.

The main reason I don’t have or want kids…

Bookish update: Ummmm I think I read 2 books this week – Space Chronicles by Neil deGrasse Tyson, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling (which let’s be honest, should hardly count since it’s a very short 100 pages). I’m almost done with The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly, hopefully I’ll finish that before I leave work today. A lot of people have mentioned how much they love this book – I’m still undecided. I liked it a lot at the beginning, but all this time in this weird forest place has been VERY strange… I have no idea how it’s going to end, and I think that’ll be the deciding factor in how much I end up liking it.

YOU GUYS, Bout of Books starts tomorrow! I have four days off this week, so I should be able to TOTALLY ROCK this readathon. My goal post will go up tomorrow morning.

Okay, I gotta go finish this book now. I’ll talk to all your lovely faces (blogs?) later. Have a great week!

Beautiful weather, adorable Gabby x 2, cute nephew L, and being spoiled by the honeyman.

Hey there peeps! Happy Sunday!

So, I didn’t do a Sarah Sunday post last week because dude, the readathon was ending and that was enough posting for one weekend. Plus, nothing really exciting was going on anyways. In the past two weeks:

  • I hosted that Premier jewelry party, which was fun and OMG my sister showed me how to make this pizza bread thing and it was sooooo goooood.
  • Two readathons happened!
  • My sister Amanda and nephew L moved back to town! Which is part of why I watched him for like 36 hours straight earlier this week. That was exhausting.
  • Had some library drama, but luckily that got straightened out. Isn’t it the most infuriating thing when someone doesn’t believe you, but you know you’re telling the truth?
  • I got a new purse! It’s GIANT and blue and I got it on clearance at Target. Love it. Also got a new, smaller notebook to use as a blogging journal.
  • Went to my niece and nephew’s birthday party – Emma is 5, and Josh is 8. I got them books (of course). Also, there was delicious pizza and cupcakes. Don’t worry, I’m still working out and such, and still maintaining my current weight.

See, not much when you really think about it. I feel like I’m always busy, but that’s mainly because of stupid work. The weather has been LOVELY. 70+ degrees and sunny for the last 4 or 5 days, and at least another 4 days of it in the forecast. So happy that spring is finally here.

Tonight is date night and we’re actually going out instead of hanging out at home! We’re going to go see Iron Man 3, and hopefully have dinner at P.F. Chang’s. It’s going to be awesome.

Bookish update: Ummmm I read some stuff. Here’s what I read in April. I just finished The River of No Return by Bee Ridgway this morning, and I’m still deciding how I feel about it. I’m currently reading Space Chronicles by Neil DeGrasse Tyson which is really good, but it’s more of a collection of a bunch of his previous essays, interviews, etc rather than just a regular non-fiction book. I’m enjoying it, and the fact that each chapter doesn’t necessarily relate directly to the next means I can read it in bits and then set it aside to do something else without totally confusing myself.

I’m HOPING to finish Space Chronicles within the next couple days, and then I’ll be moving on to something else… not sure what, but I have a ton of books on my May TBR so it shouldn’t be a problem picking something.

Okay, so I’m off to make a grocery list and try to read for a bit before I leave work. How was your week?

Good morning there lovelies! The suckiness of April continues!

Well, I suppose that this week wasn’t ALL bad. I got stuck at work on Monday night until 4 AM because the temp called in for his shift, so that kind of sucked. Tuesday night while flossing one of my fillings came out. I didn’t even know that could happen. Haven’t gone to the dentist yet to get it fixed, but hopefully will soon. It doesn’t really hurt yet, it’s just one more thing costing me money, you know? Oh and on Wednesday my cd player in the kitchen stopped working. I’m clearly on a roll here.

BUT there was lots of good stuff too this week. Wednesday was my friend’s birthday, and we took her and her hubby out to dinner and did presents and cake and stuff. On Thursday I went out and filled out an application for the library (they’re not hiring at the moment, but still) and I also filled out an application for the local B&N who IS hiring right now, so I’m going to try to check in next week and see if they reviewed it. So yeah, wish me luck there! Cause if I’m going to get a second job I’d REALLY prefer it to be a bookish one.

On Saturday I did the Color Vibe 5K with the honeyman, my sister Heather, and her kiddos. (Note the really bad pictures above – just FYI, I had lotsa layers on. There’s no excusing how messy my hair was though…) The weather was TERRIBLE – it was in the 40′s and really windy and it freaking snowed! It was still a lot of fun and the first time I’ve ever done anything like that.  After the color run the honeyman and I went home, ate Taco Bell, showered all the color off, took a nice nap, and then went grocery shopping. It ended up being a really nice day. I totally can’t wait for the day when I have weekends off again.

This week looks to be pretty busy, sadly. I only have 3 days off, and on one of those I’m hosting a Premier jewelry party, and on another day we have a lot of errands and appointments and stuff.

Bookish update: I finished 3 books this week – at least my reading has been good this month! I finished Nexus by Ramez Naam, The Disaster Diaries by Sam Sheridan, and The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy.

I’m now reading My Beloved Brontosaurus by Brian Switek, which is interesting so far even though I’m only about 30 pages into it. I’ve been on a non-fiction kick lately. I’m also hoping to start The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller this week.

There are TWO readathons this week, that I’m going to try my hardest to participate in even though this week looks a bit crazy. The first is on Wednesday the 24th, and it’s the Weekday Readathon hosted at Love At First Book. That’s the day I have lots of errands to run, but I’m going to try to read before and after (and maybe during!) all my running around that day. And of course next Saturday is the Dewey Readathon, and I’ll be reading along on that day even though I work all weekend. I need to start assembling my readathon book piles!

Are ya’ll participating in either one? You really should! Even if it’s only for a small part of the day, readathons so fun :-)

Okay peeps, I’m out. Hope everybody is having a spanking-good weekend!

Dude, screw this week. Actually, screw April, I’m kind of done with it already. Can we move on to May now?

Three things just made me kind of a mess this week: (1) Tuesday was the 1-year anniversary of my grandma dying, so that was bumming me out. (2) It’s been that lady-time o’ the month for me, which normally doesn’t really affect me much but for some reason this time I was all about wanting chocolate and tearing up at stupid things. I’m not kidding, I literally started crying at the bromance at the end of 21 Jump Street. (3) And the weather has been RIDICULOUSLY GLOOMY all goddamn week. Seriously, it’s been constant clouds, rain, wind and I’m just so sick of it, ya know?

OK whining over now.

Not much happened this week, except I got to hang out with the honeyman a lot (he took Tuesday off to be there for me, cause he’s the sweetest like that). I went shopping for a friend’s birthday next week. I’ve decided I’m going to get a second job again, except I can’t think of anywhere I want to work besides the library or the local Barnes and Noble, soooo… hopefully they’re hiring. I’m hoping to go inquire at those places this week, but this week is also looking a bit busy, so we’ll see how that goes. I only worked out twice this week, which sucked. One of my legs hurt this week so running was a real pain and I decided to just give it a rest until Monday.

This coming week I have four days off, which is nice. One of those days is going to be celebrating my friend’s birthday, and one of those days will be spent bringing out my warmer weather clothes and putting away winter clothes, and next Saturday I’m doing a 5K Color Vibe run with the honeyman and my sister, except not really cause kids are doing it too so it’ll be more like a 5K walk that I paid $90 to join in on. I’m sure it’ll be fun, buy my god I hope the weather has cleared up by then.

We’re having a lazy date night tonight, which I’m totally looking forward to. I’m making baked ziti (with ground turkey, yum), and we’re going to hang out in our PJ’s and eat and watch Archer and maybe play some Black Ops 2, because it’s a Double XP weekend so why the hell not.

Bookish update: I finished 3 books this week – HP #5 (of course), The Wednesday Letters by Jason F. Wright, and Much Ado About Nothing by Shakespeare. I started The Marriage Plot by Jeffrey Eugenides, but I DNF-ed it after about 130 pages. I started reading Nexus by Ramez Naam, and I’m not sure what I think about it yet. It’s interesting, but at the same time it’s a bit slow. I’m going to try to keep reading that today, and I’m thinking I might also start The Disaster Diaries by Sam Sheridan.

I’ve been feeling very okay about DNF-ing books lately. Normally I prefer to stick it out and finish a book, but I just haven’t had the patience for it lately. I don’t want to make myself read something that I really don’t want to be reading anymore because then it takes me forever to finish it and I could’ve used all that time to be reading something much better.  Also, in a way it’s helping me get rid of books that I’ve had on my shelves forever – The Marriage Plot was sitting on my shelf for probably at least a year, but I know now that I have no interest in finishing it, so it’s getting donated. So yay for that.

Alright, I’m off. Hope everyone’s having a good weekend!!!

Hey there guys.

Sarah update: I am SUPER tired and a little cranky right now, so bear with me.

Last Sunday was Easter, and that was nice. We went out to dinner and had Italian food that was oddly enough better when I warmed it up for lunch the next day. The honeyman and I got to spend a little time together earlier in the week – we started season 3 of Archer, and finally finished watching the Star Wars movies. We had game night and I finally got to play Fluxx, which was super strange but fun. Thursday my car wouldn’t start when I tried to leave the gym, and the guy at the auto parts store said my battery needed to be charged so I did that, and then it happened again on my way to work at 1:30 in the morning on Saturday. Sooooo that sucked, and I ended up having to get a new battery yesterday after work and I got very little sleep before coming in today. Hence the tired and cranky I mentioned.

Oh yeah, so I’ve FINALLY officially seen all 6 of the Star Wars movies! My final thoughts…

  • Anakin was a whiny little bitch.
  • I liked the older movies better.
  • Overall the storyline just doesn’t make much sense.
  • Jedi are cool but kind of really dumb.
  • Obi Wan, Han Solo, Yoda, and R2D2 were clearly the coolest characters.

Well obviously I have more thoughts than that, but that about sums it up.

In a fit of boredom at work the other day, I went through my Instagram account and tallied up all of my pictures into different categories. Gabby gets the most of my Instagram-love, followed by books / book-related things, and then followed by food. And everything else was pictures of me, family / friends, or random photo-a-day things. I’m surprised that Gabby had about a 20-picture lead over bookish stuff, but I’m not really surprised that Gabby, books, and food were the top 3. (The honeyman would be in the top 3 except he hardly ever lets me take pictures of him, much less post them all over Instagram.) So yeah… that was interesting I suppose.

Normally I’m happy that it’s Sunday because that’s usually the end of my work week, but I have to work on Monday too so that stinks. At least the honeyman and I have date night tonight, that’ll be nice :)

Bookish update: I finished two books this week – Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing by Hod Lipson and Melba Kurman, and Ex-Heroes by Peter Clines (both reviews coming this week). I actually read Ex-Heroes in only a day and it was pretty good, so I’m looking forward to the sequel coming out later this month.

Today I’m probably just going to work on finishing up HP #5 so I can get the readalong post done nice and early this week. Somehow I keep scrambling to catch up by Friday, so it’ll be nice to be ahead. Plus I don’t really have the attention span for much else today.

OK and I think that’s all I got in me for the moment. Hope ya’ll are having a good weekend!

Good morning and Happy Easter!

Sarah update: Well, this week went by FAST. Two of my three days off were spent mostly just cleaning and cooking, and then we had game night (wooooo wine and Cougar Town!) and then Wednesday was my last day off. Work this week has luckily been slower than it has been. FINALLY. It’s the end of the quarter, so things tend to slow down a bit, plus its a holiday so yay. ALL the blogging and reading at work!

So for the past two years, I haven’t been able to use my windshield wiper fluid – there was some in there and you could hear the wiper motor trying, but none came out. Which means for the past two winters, it has SUCKED because salt and dirt would get on my windshield and I couldn’t see. Well, when my brother-in-law did my oil change this weekend I mentioned it and it turned out to be some broken tube, which he fixed in about 5 minutes. So I feel like an idiot because it was so easy to fix, but I’m also super relieved because my chances are dying in a fiery car accident just went down dramatically.

It’s Easter! Which is actually kind of sad, because my grandma died last year the morning after Easter, although the actual day she died is in like 10 days. (So you know, if you read blogs in the afterlife Grandma – Hi! I miss you.) Since I had to work today and no one feels like cooking, we’re all going out to dinner tonight which should be nice.

I think last year I posted the Epic Rap Battle of History of Genghis Khan versus the Easter Bunny, so here’s a different one that’s semi-religious: Adam versus Eve. (And for those of you who know and/or like Jenna Marbles, she’s in it.) My Easter gift to you all.

Bookish update: I finished two books this week (Just Six Numbers by Martin Rees, and The Return Man by V.M. Zito) and I’m hoping to finish the 8th Nightside book today. I actually started this book AGES ago, but when I started doing treadmill intervals I stopped reading these books at the gym, so now I’m getting back into it. And I’m also planning on starting Fabricated: The New World of 3D Printing today, because 3D printing has been all over the news lately and it’s something that’s so hard for me to wrap my head around. We’re totally approaching the age in which people will have replicators like in Star Trek. How cool (and a little scary) is that?

Also I’m working on putting together a big huge TBR pile for April, because with 2 readathons happening I feel like it should be a good month for getting a ton of reading done.

Okay ya’ll, I’m going to go enjoy this peace and quiet and read for a bit. Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday, whether you’re celebrating Easter or not! Eat some chocolate!

Good morning people!

Sarah update: Honestly, not a lot happened this week, which was nice. I hung out with my sister Heather and my niece and nephew on Monday – my niece had a gymnastics thing (she’s only like 4, but still cool) and I found out my nephew is writing his own books – he’s only 7, but that is so fun that he’s writing these stories. It’s called the “Timmy the Turtle” collection. ADORABLE. (Hey future-Josh if you’re ever reading this cause the internet keeps everything forever – this was super cool and I hope you’re like a famous author when you’re reading this).

The honeyman bought The Walking Dead board game a while back, and we’ve played it by ourselves and with friends now – it’s tough, but surprisingly fun. Not sure it’s quite worth the $40 that Barnes and Noble charges, but if you find it on sale it is a really fun game.

Ummm workout-wise my running intervals are getting better. I think I’m going to switch it this week to running for 3 minutes, walking for 2 minutes, for 20 minutes. We’ll see how it goes.

Date night tonight! I believe we’re going to Red Robin (YUMMMM), then grocery shopping, and then coming home to watch The Walking Dead.  Our date nights get a lot more exciting once TWD season ends. I’m even kind of hoping that for one of our date nights in April we can go see the Wicked musical… but I’m not sure we should splurge that much. But I REALLY wanna see it…

Bookish update: I had my lonely little readathon on Wednesday! And IT. WAS. AWESOME. I read 406 pages, tweeted a bit, and otherwise just kind of ignored everything. I took a small break after the honeyman got home so we could relax and eat chicken tacos together, and then went back to my reading. It was just really nice to have a ”readathon” declared without hopping online every couple hours to socialize and do challenges and stuff.

There are however two readathons coming up in April that I’m super excited about and you should be too:

  • The Weekday Readathon is on Wednesday April 24th – For those of us who like to do readathons but are too busy on the weekends! Even if you normally work on Wednesdays, you can still join in afterwards! This will be hosted by Rebecca at Love at First Book, and Allison at The Book Wheel.
  • Also, the Dewey’s 24-Hour Readathon is usually in April and I heard a rumor that it will be on Saturday, April 27th. The website doesn’t confirm that date yet, so maybe add Dewey’s to your blog reader to stay up-to-date!

I read a few books this week – The Iron Jackal by Chris Wooding, The Space Between by Diana Gabaldon (an Outlander novella), Moloka’i by Alan Brennert, and Hell to Pay by Matthew Hughes. Reviews for most of those are coming this week. I feel like I’ve made so much progress on my March TBR!

I’m hoping to start two books today and finish them both this week – The Return Man by V.M. Zito and Just Six Numbers by Martin Rees.

So, how’s your weekend going? Anything fun planned for this coming week?

Good morninnnggg! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Sarah update: I only had 3 days off this week, so it by in a blur. Tuesday night for game night we watched the first several episodes of Cougar Town season 4 and drank a whole lotta wine, which was wonderful. I found a new cheap wine that I love, Ravat 51.

My mom came home this week! She’s been off travelling in the south since New Year’s pretty much, so I’m SUPER HAPPY that she’s home and I’m hoping I can get her to stay for a goooood long time. My little sis and L also visited yesterday, so we went out to eat. L is a cutie.

Workout FAIL this week. I only went to the gym once. But somehow I’m still maintaining right around the 155 area, so that’s good. Definitely will be better about going this week.

Oh, Google pissed off a ton of bloggers because they’re getting rid of Google Reader by July. THAT SUCKS, GOOGLE. After trying to check out a bunch of the alternatives suggested, I think I’ve settled on Bloglovin. Everyone keeps pushing Feedly, but it doesn’t work well on my work computer and it seems app-based instead of browser-based. There were a couple others,  but they either also didn’t work well on the work computer, or you had to pay to use it, or something. Bloglovin seems to be working okay so far. I’m sure I’ll get used to it.

Anyways… yeah. Not much excitement this week. I MISS MY LAPTOP. Parts came in, so hopefully it’ll be fixed soon.

Bookish update: I finished HP&tGoF, and Vanity Fair, but that’s it. I’ve been reading The Map of Time by Felix J. Palma and I’m halfway through it… but I’m thinking about quitting it. I just haven’t been looking forward to picking it up… I don’t think I like the direction the story is taking, and I’ve only been reading a few pages at a time. I don’t know. After reading 300 pages I think I should just man up and finish it, but I also have a ton of other books that I really want to read instead, so we’ll see.

Good advice, Laurie.

Since I was struggling with The Map of Time, I decided to go ahead and start the third Ketty Jay book, The Iron Jackal. I’m about 100 pages in and so totally loving it, so that was a good choice. I’m sad that I haven’t gotten a whole lot of reading done since Monday. I’ve been really, really tired this week (combination of being busy and not sleeping well) and work has been busier than normal. I tried looking for a readathon taking place sometime this month to motivate me, but there’s nothing really going on until the Dewey readathon in April, it seems. Sooo…

I’m having my own little readathon on Wednesday. Let’s call it the Go-Away-I’m-Reading Readathon. I’m not going to clean or do much of anything except chill on the couch in my pj’s and read all damn day. Obviously since I don’t have the laptop at home yet, this isn’t an event that I’ll be doing a blog post about. I’ll be on Twitter and Instagram on my phone. If you have any spare time on Wednesday morning or night and want to read and chat on Twitter, feel free to join me! No prizes, no time constraints, no challenges – just reading and some socializing.

Anyways, I’m off to schedule a few posts for the week and then attempt to read. I hope ya’ll have having a lovely weekend!

~Sarah

P.S. I almost forgot – Epic Rap Battles of History has an app now!!! My mind = blown. And if you still haven’t checked out ERBoH, what are doing with your life?

Third Ketty Jay book came, Outlander coasters from my sis, and Gabby being a dollface :-)

Good morning ya’ll!

Sarah update: Well I updated on Thursday on why I had been MIA for a bit there, so I’ll try not to repeat too much. Still waiting for the laptop to get fixed, so this is my last day of internet access until work again on Thursday. I have some posts scheduled though, and I’ll try to use my phone a little more to chat with you guys.

I had a follw-up appointment for my wisdom teeth removal on Friday, and dentist said it’s healing just fine and they gave me one of those irrigation syringes so that I can flush food out of the sockets easily. Which is SO GROSS and you probably don’t want to hear anymore about, but I totally cannot wait until these sockets close up completely. I’m paranoid about eating rice or anything tiny that might get stuck in there.

yuck

There’s some news about my little sis Amanda and L – they’re moving back home!!! She moved to a city about 1.5 hours away like 3 years ago, and she’s finally realized that it SUCKS there and she misses her family and friends, so she’s coming back by the beginning of May. I’m so excited! It’ll be so nice to see her and L a little more often. And mainly that she’s just leaving the city where she is now, cause it’s so crappy.

Workout stuff is going good. My intervals on the treadmill are now 2 minutes of running and 1.5 to 2 minutes walking, for 20 minutes. If that gets easier this week, then next week I’m going to aim for 2.5 or 3 minutes of running. I need to do more weight stuff though. My upper arm strength is SO WEAK. I just hate doing weights alone. Blah.

My darling Gabby appears to be going through her first heat. Apparently she’s a late bloomer, because according to the internet that usually happens anywhere between 6 months and 10 months old, but she’s a year old now. Anyways, she’s SUPER CRAZY affectionate, and she meows a little more often – not the loud howling I’ve heard people talk about, but just more often. She’s a quiet kitty anyways. She seems a little restless and just keeps walking around the house, and doesn’t really wanna play. Is this all normal-ish? We keep going back and forth on getting her spayed… if this is how her heats are going to be, it’s not annoying. She’s an indoor cat so there’s little to no chance of her getting out and gettin’ some from a male kitty. But the internet tells me she’s less likely to get cancer if we spay her… but some cancer risks aren’t affected if you spay them after their first heat… I JUST DON’T KNOW. I’m thinking about getting her pet insurance, so if she does ever get hurt or sick, it covers like 90% of all the costs… Is this how parents are with their kids? Searching the internet all night trying to figure out what the hell to do? Ugh.

NO GABBY, no kitty shenanigans for you.

Bookish update: I haven’t been able to finish any books this week. My last couple of weekdays off were busier than I expected, and work has been a little busy and all my downtime was spent online cause I’m internet-starved. I started The Map of Time on Monday and got about 100 pages in, but haven’t had time to read any of it since (what I read was good though). And I’m almost done with Vanity Fair! Only about 140 pages left, and the last discussion for that readalong is on Friday. And of course the last HP discussion for Goblet of Fire is on Friday too. So that’s at least two books I plan to finish this week!

If I can finish The Map of Time too, I’ll either be starting Moloka’i next, or The Iron Jackal. Let’s be honest, probably The Iron Jackal because I’m dying to read it. I don’t know how I’m going to make it to the fall when the fourth book comes out. Have you started the Ketty Jay series yet? Cause you need to.

Okay, I’m off to do some blog readin’ and then some work. Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

~Sarah

Internet, how I missed you.

I Love You

OHMYGOD I FEEL LIKE I’VE BEEN GONE FOREVER!

So, remember how a while back I was complaining about our laptop acting stupid? Basically the screen was constantly flickering and it was a pain in the ass. Weeeeellll on Friday after my oral surgery (more about that in a moment, calm yo’ selves) I ended up giving the laptop to my sister so her father-in-law could kindly take a look at it (BIG thank you if you’re reading!), which means I’ve been computer-less since about 2 pm on Friday. We don’t have the laptop back yet (had to order some parts, which luckily weren’t very expensive), so for now I have to do pretty much all my internet and blog-related things while I’m at work.

This morning when I logged on and checked Google Reader, it was at 650. You guys are so chatty! I’ve spent pretty much the first couple hours of my shift clearing that down. I’m reading posts and commenting when I have something to say, so if you see a comment from me on a post that’s like a week old, this is why.

Anyways, a short update of sorts?

  • Birthday happened, it was awesome. Basically went out to eat alllll week. And the honeyman bought me books :-)
  • Got all four wisdom teeth pulled out on Friday. I was tired from the sedation, but other than that no swelling and hardly any pain after the second day, so yay! Really tiredness was my main issue but it gave me an excuse to sleep on the couch most of the weekend, so it’s cool. I go for a follow-up Friday afternoon to make sure I’m healing okay.
  • Been trying to read a lot since I wasn’t able to spend hours online like I usually do, so I have a couple reviews to write.
  • I really missed blogging during this past week! I’m going to spend most of this weekend at work catching up and scheduling posts, but then I’ll be internet-less again Monday through Wednesday :-(
  • But I’m SO happy the laptop is getting fixed! That screen was driving me insane.

Okay so that’s enough blabbing from me! I should probably start working on other posts and stuff, and going through Googlereader some more… oh and working. Yeah, work is important…

I missed all of your bloggy faces!
