Good morning people reading this!
Sarah update: Well let’s make this brief. New Years was fun, New Years Day was AWESOME. The honeyman and I both had off of work, and we laid around the house in our pj’s all day while he played video games and I read and blogged. I worked this week, it sucked, and it has been FREAKING FREEZING which really sucks and makes me wanna move. OH and my mommy came home!!!!! She has been in N.C. since like right after Thanksgiving and I have never gone a whole month without seeing my mom and I missed her a lot. She’s probably going back to N.C. early this week, so I have to try to see her as much as I can until then.
This week should be great though, because I have 4 days off and there’s a readathon happening and I can go to the gym a lot. Aaaaaand on Tuesday night Cougar Town season 4 starts!
I already have wine waiting for me in the fridge. I have been missing CT for so long.
OH OH OH and last night the honeyman put together the revolving bookshelf he got me for Christmas!!! Eeeeeeeeeee!!!! I decided to use it for books that I haven’t read yet but are higher on my priority list than the other books I own that I haven’t read yet (there are SO MANY). I’m hoping this inspires me to work harder at reading the books I already own. Although I did make a “library books” section too.
Bookish update: I read 3 books so far this year! Woo hoo! I read Jam by Yahtzee Croshaw, Weird Things Customers Say in Bookstores by Jen Campbell, and Mr. Penumbra’s 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan. And now I’m reading Hyperspace by Michio Kaku, which the honeyman got me for Christmas. I’m hoping to read enough of Hyperspace while I’m at work today that I can finish it tomorrow during the readathon. This is awesome, I still feel really motivated and inspired to devour books at a rapid pace. I hope the whole year is like that.
Oh yeah, and the Bout of Books readathon starts on Monday! You can still sign up – it’s a totally relaxed week-long readathon, and it’s so so fun. Probably my favorite readathon, because there’s very little stress, lots of time to blog and visit other blogs and chat, and sleep, and eat, and still get a ton of reading done.
Also, because I’ve been trying to be a better blogger and pay attention to stuff around the internet more, here are some linky-links you might wanna take a gander at:
- Diana Gabaldon’s post of stuff you might wanna know about Outlander-related news. (Including news about the Outlander show being developed.)
- Sarah at The Brazen Bookworm talks about what to do with your used e-reader (I hate e-readers, but there are some good ideas here if you have more than one for some reason).
- 18 Predictions for 2013 from various sci-fi stories, which is pretty funny and also scary.
- The SF Signal did a post of a ton of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror books being released in January, complete with covers. There’s a LOT there, including YA titles, so take a peek.
Not much, but whatever. Soooo that’s my week! How has everyone else been?
~Sarah

Oh yay! I didn’t know Cougar Town was back — yay!!!
I love that revolving bookcase … it’s so cute! I keep all the books that I really need to read on the floor by my bed. I really should invest in a shelf one day!
Yay for Bout of Books! I can’t wait to get my read on this week.
Yessss! I am SO PSYCHED for Cougar Town, it’s such a fun, happy show.
I am so so excited about the revolving bookcase! The best part about it is that it wasn’t even on my Christmas list – the honeyman came up with that on his own. He done good
Oh, I LOVE the bookcase!!!
It’s so awesome
I am PSYCHED.
Your bookcase is AWESOME! Seriously, I’m jealous of that bookshelf. If only I had somewhere to put it, I’d totally steal it…
Yay for your mom coming home! I can’t imagine not seeing my mom for a month, that’s a LONG time! I hope you get to spend a lot of time with her before she has to go back!
Hope you have a great week and an at least ok time at work!
Yeah I love my mom
It sucks not seeing her but she’s enjoying herself travelling and stuff and being it warmer wearther.
