My pretty Gabby girl ![]()
Good morning people!
Sarah update: WORK. I am now on my sixth straight day, and it’s not even over yet. I have to work tomorrow too, because I switched shifts with someone in order to get next Saturday off to go to that big Penguin warehouse book sale. In case anyone is wondering, that’s 7 12-hour shifts in a freaking row. Or 84 hours in one week. At least this coming paycheck is gonna be SWEET.
I can’t believe I haven’t gone completely crazy yet. I owe that mostly to the honeyman, who has been super amazing in helping do stuff around the house and running errands. That’s allowed me to get a decent amount of sleep, most nights. The worst was Tuesday – I literally didn’t get any sleep before coming into work, because it was game night. I went home after work and slept for 10 hours. It was awesome. Oh, and I didn’t get a lot of sleep on Friday night because I agreed to go see the new Silent Hill movie with the honeyman. He was SO excited to go see it (he looooooves Silent Hill) and I like going to stuff that he’s that excited about. And though the whole Silent Hill story confuses the hell out of me, it was okay – really good graphics/CGI and it didn’t give me nightmares. Win!
Soooo… not a whole lot to update on. Not even a real weight loss update, because I’m exactly where I was at a week ago. I’ve still been counting calories and working out and stuff, but sitting at a desk for 12 hours every day kind of cancels that stuff out. Ugh. Whatever, at least I didn’t gain.
This coming week will be busy, even though I technically have 4 days off. Work and game night tomorrow, and Halloween is on Wednesday - but I have to go to the lawyer’s with mom (stuff about Grandma’s will) and then have to work for 4 hours because I’m a sucker and I got talked into covering part of a shift. And then you know, Halloween stuff. I don’t have a costume planned… I’m bad at stuff like that. But I DID buy some of that temporary colored hair spray, in hot pink. Maybe I’ll put pink streaks in my hair and go as 15-year old Sarah.
What are guys dressing up as for Halloween?
Not going to get a whole lot of sleep tonight – I’m going to try to take a nap when I get home, but then I’m going to wake up to make dinner and so we can watch Once Upon a Time and The Walking Dead. It’s still date night, even though I have to work at 2 in the morning. And I’m really, really excited for OUAT because apparently we finally get to see who Dr. Whale is.
Bookish update: I actually got a lot of reading done this week – the one perk to working so damn much, I guess. I read The Diviners by Libba Bray, and Where’d You Go, Bernadette?, and I’m about halfway through the 5th Nightside book. And during the last 3.5 hours I have left of my shift today I’m going to try and finish the last section for The Grapes of Wrath. I’m so excited we’re almost at the end! Partly because I’m still waiting for something horrible to happen to the Joads, and partly because I’m excited that I’ll be able to say I’ve read it. Woo-hoo for reading classics.
Oh, and yeah, looks like I’m going to that big Penguin warehouse booksale on next Saturday. The honeyman has agreed to drive me too :0) Although… knowing us, we may change our minds. Because it IS a 3-hour drive just to go to a booksale, and it’s so rare that we ever have a day off together. So we plan on going right now, but we may decide to save the gas money and just hang out together. We’ll see.
So, how has everyone else’s week been? Anything exciting planned for this week / Halloween?
~Sarah

I really admire your ability to work so much and sleep so little, you’re like a super-woman!
I hope this week is easier on you. And yay for OUAT, I can’t wait to find out Dr. Whale’s story!
Thanks
I can definitely function on little sleep, but I’m super cranky while I’m doing it, lol.
AND omg Dr. Whale’s story is crazy! But I liked it.
Oh my GOD, when I went to see Looper they had an advert for Silent Hill and I nearly peed my pants with FEAR. It looked horrid! So basically, you’re a brave brave woman
And I hope you go to that booksale cause it sounds AWESOME. Although I understand the just hanging, cause that sounds cool too
LOL I think Silent Hill doesn’t scare me much because I’ve played some of the video games, and it’s so outrageously weird and messed up. I get more afraid of horror movies about like serial killers or killer little kids or something.
That’s a lot of hours at work last week! I hope you can relax in your days off and YAY for having a day off with your hubby!
The book sale sounds amazing, but just hanging out is kinda amazing as well
Hope you have fun and have a better week than last week!
I haven’t summoned up the courage to watch Silent Hill yet, it sounds SO SCARY.
Do show us a picture of your Halloween costume!
Yes, I plan to relax as much as possible this week
And don’t worry, Silent Hill wasn’t too scary. Weird and gross, but not scary.
Hope your crazy work week wasn’t too bad! Was the movie good at all?
I survived it, lol. Can’t wait till I don’t work anymore, lol.
The movie was good, I think. It was very Silent Hill video game-esque, BUT they did do something dumb like through in hints of a romance between two characters, which never happened in the games. The graphics / CGI or whatever were really good. Have you guys seen it?
A warehouse sale sounds like fun! I hope you find some goodies there!
I honestly don’t know how you do everything when you work so much. I work part-time and can barely keep up.
Great picture of Gabby! Love her little collar.
Seriously, I AM barely keeping up, lol. I cannot wait for the day when I can quit.
And I probably won’t be going to the warehouse sale, which stinks, but I’m SO looking forward to spending a day with my honeyman, so it’s still going to be an awesome day.
Wow I don’t think I could go that long without a decent amount of sleep. I would be a zombie. The book sale sounds like an awesome plan, but so does staying home with the honeyman. I’m glad that’s he’s been helping out so that you can sleep and not have to stress about other things. That’s so wonderful.
I hope you have a good week.
I think we’ve pretty much decided not to go to the booksale. Which is disappointing cause it would have been fun to blog about, but it’s just a lot of driving to go spend money I don’t really need to spend, ya know?
