Sarah Sunday!

Good morning everybody!

Sarah update: Crap this has been the longest week ever. So let’s see, I worked 5 days, had Wednesday off, and then had to work Thursday through tomorrow (another 5 days). 10 shifts in 11 days SUCKS. But after Monday my schedule will go back to normal and I’ll have a couple of days off. Phew!

So yeah, sorry I haven’t really been around this week… my life has basically been go to work, go to the gym, go home and sleep; repeat. On my one day off, I had to run some errands and do laundry, so I really only had a free couple hours and I chose to be lazy and read on the couch with Gabby. It was awesome. Poor Gabby, I think she misses me being around more during the day. On my day off she totally just followed me around everywhere and laid on me whenever I wasn’t doing anything. She’s so adorable.

Tonight is date night, but it’ll be a short date night since I have to come back to work at 2 am. We’ve decided to stay home, make shredded chicken tacos, and watch season 5 of The Big Bang Theory. I’m SOOOO looking forward to a few hours home alone with the honeyman. We’ve hardly seen each other this week. And normally we like to at least go out to dinner on date night, but I didn’t want to have to share him with anyone else so we decided to eat at home :-)

On the weight loss front, as of this morning I’m down a total of 8.6 lbs. I’m FINALLY losing the desire to freaking talk about it constantly, since working out and stuff is becoming more of a routine. My jeans are fitting a little better, so that’s cool. On a more depressing side though, I’m down a bra size. Granted, it’s the size I was a couple of years ago before I gained so much weight, but now I’m terrified it’s going to keep going down and that will just be sad. Plus, I’ll eventually have to go buy new ones and bras are expensive. Well, at least they are if you buy good ones and want a big selection. Okay, enough about bras.

Bookish update: I figured that a re-read would be a good idea while I was working all these hours, so I picked the 6th Outlander book (A Breath of Snow and Ashes) and finished it on Saturday. *Sigh* I love Jamie and Claire. AND I was able to read a whole other book on Saturday – Radioactive: Marie and Pierre Curie: A Tale of Love and Fallout by Lauren Redniss. It was about 200 pages, and mostly art and illustrations, but it tells the story of how Marie and Pierre got together and fell in love and how much they contributed to science with their studying radium and stuff. It was a VERY cool book. So see, even though I was MIA pretty much all week, at least I’m coming back this week with at least two reviews to write! Yay.

And now I’m starting to read Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs. I really like this author, ever since his first book (I believe) called The Know-It-All, in which he set out to read the entire Encyclopaedia Britannica. It was hilarious, but also nerdy and informative. Then he wrote a book called The Year of Living Biblically, in which he tried to follow the Bible as literally as possible, and that was cool (and the part where he wasn’t allowed to sit anywhere his wife already sat because she may be “unclean” was hysterical). I think he wrote a book called My Life as An Experiment, but I haven’t gotten to that one yet. And now Drop Dead Healthy is about him trying to be like the healthiest person ever, and I figured now was a good time to read it, considering my whole losing-weight kick.

I’m expecting a good laugh :-)

Soooo that’s my update! Not much happening here. Over the next couple days I’m going to try to get online more to catch up on reading blogs and replying to comments and such.

Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend!

~Sarah

  1. Sounds like you had a rough week! I’m glad you’re schedule will be going back to normal soon!
And I can totally relate to not wanting to share when you only have one night with your man!
Congrats on the weight loss! And go you for keeping up with going to the gym! Also, I would totally be sad about going down a bra size (which would mean I had virtually nothing left, but I digress) and having to buy new bras. It’s one of the only things I don’t really like to shop for.
Poor Gabby misses her mommy ;)

    • Bras are really tedious to try on. To find a really good one, you have to spend at least like 20 minutes trying on a whole bunch of different sizes and styles. Women did NOT like hearing that when they came into Lane Bryant to shop for bras, lol.

  2. You have been CRAZY busy this week!! Hopefully your shifts get back to normal after this 10-day stint.

And yay for date night! We’re having tacos tonight, too … all caught up on the Big Bang Theory though. :)

Congrats on the weight loss! It always the way, isn’t it? I notice the chest is one of the first places I lose weight, too.

Hope you have a good week, Sarah!

  3. Wow that is a busy week. But you made it through and Gabby always has your back.

Yay for TBBT. Season 5 is the best one to date. I can’t wait until the new season starts.

Congrats on your weight loss. And yes, bra shopping is the worst. I feel your pain.

  4. Sounds like the best date night ever.

Loved “Year of Living Biblically” by A.J. Jacobs so I look forward to hearing how this one is!

  5. Bluergh work!

And, also, I’m SO with you on bras! Like, I didn’t have any good ones for YEARS, and I bought some last year and now I’m terrified of losing or gaining any boobage cause HOLY CRAP bras are expensive! I enjoy that what I picked up from your whole post is the stuff about boobs. That’s me in a nutshell!

  6. Congrats on another great weight loss week! :D Bummer about the freaking bras though. I’ve been lucky enough to not shrink there yet. I love the bras at Lane Bryant and I never went to that store until you told me about it!

Looking forward to your Drop Dead Healthy review when you finish it!

    • For real, I’m going to be so sad if I can’t get bras from Lane Bryant anymore! It actually makes me hope that my band size doesn’t go lower than a 36… and for real, if my books start to look gross and sad then I’ll just gain weight again, LOL. I never realized I was so attached…
