Good morning ya’ll!
Sarah update: This was a really nice, relaxing week. I had four days off, which was really the calm before the storm, because I’m working 6 days this week. I got lots of reading done this week, and lots of working out, and it was overall just pretty nice. Nothing very exciting has happened, except that game night on Tuesday was pretty fun and we had fun spoiling the GM’s plans for us to fight some big scary bad guy, which we’ll have to do eventually, but still. Oh, I’ve also scheduled a visit with my dad for this coming week… it’s been about a month, and according to his friend Carol he wrote me a letter apologizing but probably put the wrong address down (which is most likely true). So, we’ll see how that visit goes. But the second he tries arguing with me or telling me I was childish for refusing to see him, I’m leaving.

Once Upon a Time came out on DVD this week, which the honeyman bought for me and I’m planning on re-watching immediately. The second season starts on September 30th and I’m SOOOOO excited. Love this show. He also bought himself the second season of The Walking Dead, and the third season starts on October 14th. Both shows will be on Sundays, but luckily one’s at 8 and one’s at 9, so we don’t have to argue over which one to watch. I mean I love them both, but Once Upon a Time is my JAM. Also, this means that soon our date nights are mostly going to consist of takeout and tv, but that’s okay. It’s perfect for the colder weather coming.
On the weight loss front, as of this morning I’ve lost a total of 6.2 lbs. Yay! This was my first week having my gym membership back, so I was able to go to the gym Monday through Saturday for at least an hour each time. I feel like I haven’t been taking as many pictures on my phone or tweeting a lot, because this is what’s on my brain lately and I don’t want to annoy the beejezus out of everyone talking about working out. Like I’m doing now…
Okay but two questions for you guys: Do you know any good websites or cookbooks for low-cal recipes, and do you have any workout song recommendations?
Right now my favorite songs on my workout playlist are…
- “Errtime” by Nelly
- “Not Dyin’” by Sticky Fingaz
- “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” by Shakira <— I have no idea what this song means, and the “waka waka” part reminds me of that Muppet, but it’s a fun song.
- DJ Hero remix of “Heard It Through the Grapevine” and “Feel Good Inc”
- “Crazy Bitch” by Buckcherry
- “Rock That Body” by The Black Eyed Peas
Fun, and weird, but these are the songs that have the funnest pace to them, I guess. I need more though, cause I get bored easily.
Bookish update: I read so many books this week! Kind of. Okay, well I guess it was just two – The Damned Busters by Matthew Hughes (which was so much fun and you should read it) and My Horizontal Life by Chelsea Handler. But that’s a lot for one week, for me. At least lately. I’ve also started re-reading A Breath of Snow and Ashes by Diana Gabaldon (Outlander #6), which I’m currently about 1/3 of the way through – page 361 out of 980. This was actually the perfect week to start re-reading this, since I’m working so much. Working oddly enough gives me a lot of extra reading time, so hopefully I’ll finish it by the end of the week. There probably won’t be any new reviews this week, sadly.
I also got some books out of the library this week that I’m excited about – Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs, and Too High to Fail by Doug Fine. The second one is apparently about weed, specifically about some situation in California where it’s produced legally and had a lot of economic benefits for the local area. I already think that weed should be legalized and taxed like crazy, but this book apparently goes into a lot more detail and sounds interesting. If I can manage to finish my Outlander book this week, I actually stand a chance at being able to read my library books this time! Well, plus the one I had on my monthly TBR list…
SO, that’s all I got! I’m going to try to go on Twitter more because I miss it, so sorry if I end up boring you all to death. But this week is going to be CRAZY busy with work and trying to get other stuff done, so hopefully it goes by fast and I can get back to my routine. What about you guys, any fun plans this week?
Hope everyone has a lovely week!!!
~Sarah

Ahh! Once Upon a Time! I started watching it, then I moved and Time Warner said I couldn’t keep my cable box which had all the episodes DVR’d!
So now I’m on hold for it at the library so I can finish it before the next season comes on. Same thing with The Walking Dead. Started but couldn’t finish it and waiting for the hold to come in. Yay for catching up!
I am so proud of you for losing 6.2 pounds so far! You’re doing AWESOME! I get bored of my gym playlist all the time too. Right now, I’m listening to that ridiculous Party Rock song a lot haha. It’s pretty fast paced.
Drop Dead Healthy has been on my TBR list forever! I’ve gotten it out of the library twice so far and had to return it both times, so I’m curious to see what you think of it!
You had a good week!
I loooove Once Upon a Time! I’m very excited for the next season.
Actually, there are quite a few shows I’m excited for!
Congrats on the weight loss! As for healthy recipes, I really like the blog ‘Kath Eats Real Food,’ ‘Oh She Glows,’ and ‘Iowa Girl Eats.’ Lots of healthy, real food recipes. As for songs, I love listening to Muse, Radiohead’s ’15 Step’, or My Brightest Diamond remixes (Inside a Boy is AWESOME!). Oh, and Hawksley Workman’s ‘Not Your Parent’s Music’ and ‘Fatty Wants to Dance’ are great, too!
Hope you have another good reading week, even if you’re working for the majority of it!
I’m glad you had a relaxed week. And yay for Once upon a Time! I love this show!
I think our weeks are just the opposite, last week was unexpectedly crazy for me, but I hope this one is more relaxed so I can find more time to read and write in peace.
I hope your work doesn’t get too stressful and you have a great week!
I haven’t seen Once Upon a Time but reading you rave about it makes me want to check it out! And I recently read Drop Dead Healthy and it was pretty enjoyable so I’m looking forward to your review. As to your request for workout songs, two come to mind: I’m Sexy and I Know It by LMFAO (for the line, “I work out”) and Fergalicious by Fergie (there’s also a line that talks about her being in the gym). Both are upbeat and always make me want to start working out or push harder if I already am. As for low-cal recipes, there’s a site with meals and snacks under 400 calories. Not sure if I can post a site in the comment box but it’s http://under400.tumblr.com/ (Under400 dot tumblr dot com). Hope that helps and keep up the great work!
I haven’t watched Once Upon A Time but it does look good. I reserve Sunday tv time for Masterpiece. I’m addicted to British dramas. For a song suggestion the first thing that popped into my head was Africa by Toto. No one is immune from dancing when that song comes on. The only downside is that it will be in your head for days.
Yay Once Upon A Time!! I LOVE that show! I’m so excited to see what will happen next

Go you on keeping up with working out! I’m not really someone who works out (unless shopping counts), but I imagine working out to this song might be enjoyable:
I also love to sing along with it while driving
I hope the visit with your dad goes well!
I love Once Upon a Time. Throughout the series I kept asking myself how they would push it past the first season and they managed to do it just fine. I can’t wait for the new season to start.
