1st Caprese salad I’ve ever had, Mom & L, and my Gabby girl ![]()
Good morning!!!
Sarah update: The week literally flew by, and left me so exhausted that I was kind of looking forward to work on Friday, just because it meant some alone time and the chance to read a bit. Monday lots of my family came over for dinner and to Amanda and L and that was awesome. Tuesday Amanda & me ran errands and hung out then it was game night. Wednesday Amanda left around noon and then my older sis Heather came over when she got out of work – we made turkey burgers for dinner and watched Crazy Stupid Love. And Thursday I went tipsy-movie-watching with my friend – she made us amaretto sours and put them into water bottles, and we drank them while we watched Magic Mike. So fun!
Obviously all of that was fun and it was nice to be social… mostly. I’m definitely looking forward to more alone time this week, I hope. Monday I’m going to an amusement park with Heather and my niece and nephew (Emma & Josh), and Monday night Amanda and L are coming back into town AGAIN. Those two are going with me to visit Dad on Tuesday morning, and then I think I’m watching L while Amanda goes to get her hair done, and then I have to clean the house for game night and they’ll leave at some point. Wednesday during the day is mine – ALL MINE.

Cuddling with her mama ![]()
Wednesday through Friday is actually the me and the honeyman’s 5-Year Anniversary together! Yay! He has Thursday & Friday off from work, and this week is my vacation, so we’ll have a whole FOUR DAYS OFF TOGETHER! I’m very excited
And obviously I am a very, very lucky girl.
Bookish update: *sigh* Like I said, I didn’t have time to read until freaking Friday. It’s very depressing. I’m still reading Great Expectations, and enjoying it. I’m almost done with a kids / YA book called The Emerald Atlas – I’ll probably finish that today and post a review sometime this week. And I’m still reading The Graveyard Book for the readalong. I bought a few books this week… a romance, a sci-fi / fantasy book that looked fun, and the trade paperback copy of the 6th Outlander book, A Breath of Snow and Ashes. I’m hoping to read like a fiend within these next 12 days that I have off. While this coming week is looking a little busy already, the week after that I am refusing to make plans with anyone, dammit. I’ll be a hermit, but at least I’ll be reading!
Oh, and I’m working on mini-readathon plans too. If you happen to be reading this and happen to have an opinion, would you rather have 5 mini-challenges spaced 3 hours apart, or 4 spaced 4 hours apart? It’s July 29th, don’t forget!

Found Gabby just relaxing on the dresser (ignore the mess.) She still looks like a tiny kitten here ![]()
And that’s about it. I’m going to go on my lunch now and then come back and read and blog for the last 6 hours, and then I’m FREEEEEE! I won’t have to work again until July 27th. THAT IS SO AWESOME.
Hope everyone has a beautiful week!
~Sarah

Hehe, I love how you’re looking forward to an alone day! I so need about 10 hours of alone time a day, seriously. Gaaah, other people!
Re: mini-readathon, I say 4 challenges, cause then it’s like slightly less stopping reading time, you know? I mean, I know that readathons are all about the challenges and updates too, but also reaaaaading! lol
You’ve had such a busy week! No wonder you’re not reading very much! I don’t mind having company and being social, but I’m pretty much a homebody and prefer quiet over noise — which is weird, since I’m a musician and play the LOUD piano all the time! But today it’s raining outside and the window’s are thrown open … it’s quiet in the house. A perfect day! I totally understand you wanting some alone time!
I still have to see Magic Mike, but I think I’ll wait until it’s on DVD … a good movie to bring drinks to, though!
As for the challenges, I would say 4 challenges — more time for reading in between!
Enjoy your week!
Congrats on your anniversary!! You’ve had such a busy week, I’m sure that you’ll enjoy your time off. I’m sure that you’ll get back into the swing of reading again. I get in those funks too. They are a pain. I’m currently in a review writing funk. I have to force myself, it blows.
I was in a reading funk for two months. I think I am getting out of it now though. I know what you mean by alone time. I need lots of it to be happy! Congrats on 5 years!
Oh, my gosh, I feel the same way about having family & friends around. I love being with them but boy am I ready for “me” quiet time when they’re gone! Happy anniversary!
I can understand wanting alone time. As much as I love my family and friends, I get overwhelmed by too much company soon. Enjoy your vacation and happy anniversary!
Love the Gabby picture, as always! Such a little cutie!
I saw Magic Mike this weekend. I had fun, but it would have been more fun if we did it your way.
I had amaretto sours once… so yummy but I got sick later lol.
YAY! Happy time off from work!! And congrats on your 5 year anniversary!!
I hope you and you honeyman will stay this happy together for many, many years! Enjoy your time off together!

Also, lol tipsy-movie watching
And caprese salad, YUM! I could eat nothing but different types of salads and never get bored!
LOL! I wish I had though to bring some alcohol in water bottles when we went to see Ted a few weeks ago. I probably would have enjoyed it more.
